I am a medical communications specialist with two decades of experience. I have advanced knowledge of the treatment and prevention of HIV and other infectious diseases as well as other therapeutic areas including metabolic and rare diseases. I have written and edited conference coverage, clinical trials reports, peer-reviewed manuscripts, posters, abstracts, slide decks, press releases, and brochures for lay and professional audiences.
Through my experiences at the Infectious Diseases Society of America and the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), I became adept at working with physician experts on many educational projects, including drug monographs, training material, patient information, and public policy briefs. My experience working with healthcare professionals in academic medicine provides invaluable insight about effective strategies that are relevant to the daily lives of practicing physicians. At Prime Global and Corcept I continued building these relationships by working with key opinion leaders and industry experts.
I have worked in HIV prevention since 2000 in a variety of capacities including outreach worker, group facilitator, consultant, and writer. With the firm Porter Novelli and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, I developed a project to help HIV care providers more effectively talk to their patients about strategies to avoid transmitting HIV to their partners. I previously consulted with the HIV Medicine Association on the same topic and worked with the San Francisco Department of Public Health on HIV and STD prevention campaigns.
